Common Jezebel Butterfly
Description: Yellow , orange and black...striking colours. The colours also announce that the butterfly is unpalatable because of the food it ate as a caterpillar. Potential predators therefore know better than to treat it as breakfast. The first photo has been cropped. Habitat: Resting on a Polyalthia longifolis tree (with lots of Tailed Jay caterpillar at various stages) just outside my window. Urban residential area.
