West Bay Rotary, MRC annual yard sale fundraiser
West Bay Rotary and Midcoast Recreation Center (MRC) will hold their annual indoor yard sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at MRC, 535 West St. Early birds are welcome at 7 a.m. for a $5 entrance fee. On Sunday, from noon to 2 p.m. shoppers may fill a box or bag with donated items for $5.
Community members may donate items (please no clothing, baby items, electronics, or couches) for the two organizations to sell or may rent space for $10 and sell their own items. Those renting space must provide their own tables and chairs.

The Camden Public Library and the Camden Energy Committee plan to conclude a series of presentations about energy use and conservation with a fourth discussion at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 3, via Zoom.
This session in the “Let’s Talk About Energy” series steps up the conversation to the state level. A panel of speakers representing state government and energy nonprofits will discuss strategies for reaching the ambitious clean energy goals recently set by the Maine Climate Council.
The four presenters participating in the panel are Hannah Pingree, head of the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and co-chair of the Maine Climate Council; Vicki Doudera, Camden-Rockport-Islesboro’s representative in the Maine State Legislature and a member of the legislature’s environment and natural resources committee; Michael Stoddard, executive director of Efficiency Maine, which works to improve energy efficiency and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions in the state; and Kathleen Meil, who heads the Clean Energy for All campaign of Maine Conservation Voters.

Tuesday, June 1, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Yoga in the Amphitheatre. Every Tuesday and Friday enjoy views of Camden Harbor while being guided through a sequence of yoga poses with certified instructor Denyse Robinson. All levels welcome. Donations accepted with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Camden Public Library.

. During the month of May, the Camden Public Library will host an online show of photographic artwork by Sue Michlovitz and Dianne Kittle, who are presently completing Master of Fine Arts degrees at Maine Media College in Rockport. The images featured in the show highlight work that each artist has collected for publication in two fine press books.

Let's Talk About Energy, Part 3: Municipal Energy

The Camden Public Library and Camden Energy Committee continue their series, “Let’s Talk About Energy,” online on Thursday, May 6, at 6 p.m.
In part 3 of this series, the focus will shift to municipal energy use. This program will take a look at what the local town government is doing to combat climate change through energy savings and an increasing reliance on renewable and alternative inputs. “What can we do as a community to reach Maine’s goal of reducing emissions by 45% over the next ten years and 80% by 2050?” said Nancy Harmon Jenkins, of the Camden Energy Committee, in a news release. “For this session, we’ve gathered a panel of individuals who can speak to how different public sectors are approaching this goal.”
