The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that about 50.5 per cent of Nigerian children, aged between 5 and 17, are engaged in economic activities.   The revelation is contained in a report by the bureau, an official office of the Nigerian government that gives statistical information on the country released on Thursday, titled: “Nigeria Child Labour and Forced Labour Survey 2022″.   It listed 12 states where children (5-17 years) in child labour are prevalent, with Cross River coming on top, recording 67.4 per cent.  

Unknown gunmen, on Thursday night, shot dead a third class Chief of Sansani Chiefdom, in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, Alhaji Abdulmutallib Sansani.

Unknown gunmen, on Thursday night, killed a third-class chief, Abdulmutalib Nuhu, at Sensani Village in the Gasol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

A wanted serial killer and bandit identified as Shehu Ibrahim, aka Shuwaldo, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Taraba State.   The 30-year-old man who was arrested by FID-STS at Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State was accused of killing and burying some innocent citizens.   Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, made this known in a post on his X handle on Friday, adding that arms were recovered from the bandit.   Muyiwa added that the suspect was helping the police to get his cohorts.  

There is a fresh tension in Taraba community as the traditional ruler of Sansani chiefdom in Gassol LGA, Alhaji Abdulmutalib Jankada, was reportedly assassinated.
