QC's Vaccination Plan Against COVID-19 gets approval from the NTF | Philippine Information Agency


CALOOCAN CITY, Jan. 29 (PIA) – The Quezon City Government, which has allocated P1 billion to immunize its citizens against COVID-19, has earned the approval of the country’s National Task Force when the local government presented its vaccine deployment plan on Thursday.
“[Your plan] is very well-thought of, you’ve already done the staff work. Bumaba na talaga kayo. I was looking nga at my notes, at kumpleto na sya, nagawa na sya,” said Department of Health (DOH) Director Aleli Sudiacal, commending the city’s overall vaccine plan and simulation.
Mayor Joy Belmonte thanked the members of the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) team, led by the National Task Force and the Inter-agency for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, who visited the city for a discussion and presentation of the proposed immunization program of the local government. ....

Quezon City LGU increases vaccine purchase to 1.1 M doses

The local government of Quezon City is increasing the procurement of the AstraZeneca vaccine after signing a tripartite agreement with the pharmaceutical company and the national government.
From the initial 750,000 doses, the city will now procure 1.1 million doses, the LGU said Monday (January 11) .
This means that about 550,000 residents will be inoculated with the vaccine once it arrives in the country by the third quarter of 2021.
“This is part of the plan of our Task Force Vax to Normal. Now that we have secured 1.1 million doses, we will continue talking to other pharmaceutical companies to secure more vaccines for QCitizens to complement the national government’s goal. When more QCitizens are vaccinated, we can soon achieve herd immunity,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said. ....
