KANSAS CITY, Mo. â The thermostat in Taylor Albritton's Lenexa home showed 48 degrees at 12:22 p.m., almost four hours after her power went out as part of Evergy's controlled outages across the region.
"I know [Evergy is] not going to pay for my pipes if they're frozen or pay for any food that goes bad, so we're kind of on our own at this point," Albritton said.
The power came back on at 3 p.m.
