Google's Pixel 6 is almost upon us, but the phone's most significant element has barely started to come into focus.
According to reports, Google has delayed its first foldable smartphone project, codenamed Passport. The handset is expected to utilise the Google Tensor SoC, along with a 7.6-inch foldable display. Google is tipped to tease the Pixel Fold at its Pixel 6 series launch event later this year, though.
Mathures Paul | Published 04.08.21, 01:24 AM Google will finally have better control over the lifespan of its Pixel phones and what they can do. The news is the next Google phones — Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro — will be powered by the company’s own system on a chip, called Tensor. The move comes at a time when Apple has broken away from Intel by making its own M1 chip while Google is ditching Qualcomm (a symbolic loss for the company) in favour ...
Google is announcing the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro today, though it might be better to call it a preview or a tease. Rather than releasing all the details on its new Android phones, Google is instead putting the focus on the new system on a chip (SoC) that will be inside the new Pixels. It’s called the Tensor SoC, named after the Tensor Processing Units (TPU) Google uses in its data centers. Tensor is an SoC, not a single processor. And so while it’s fair to call it Google-designed, it’s also still unclear which components are Google-made and which are licensed from others. Two things are...
10.000 Beispiel...
