On May 25, 2021, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Wu Jianghao and Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand Thani Thongphakdi co-chaired the Fifth Round of China-Thailand Strategic Dialogue via video link. Wu Jianghao said, under the high-level strategic guidance of the two countries, the bilateral ties have made great strides. Both sides have joined forces in fighting the COVID-19, and moved forward the Belt and Road cooperation, further deepening the China-Thailand relations that are as close as one family. This year marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China will embark on the new journey of fully building a modern socialist country. Thailand is also faced with the major task of consolidating gains in the fight against the virus and promoting economic recovery. China and Thailand should strengthen strategic communication, promote development and revitalization, and seek win-win cooperation. Both sides should facilitate faster high-quality development of bilateral ties, and reinforce coordination and collaboration at the regional and multilateral levels, making new contribution to maintaining regional peace and stability, upholding international fairness and justice, and advancing global governance.
