TTD awaits govt. nod to increase toll fee

About 4,500 four-wheelers ply on the two ghat roads between Tirumala and Tirupati daily
The TTD is seriously contemplating the proposal to enhance the toll fee being collected at its Alipiri security checking plaza in Tirupati, the gateway to the sacred hill abode of Lord Venkateswara. It has addressed a letter to the government seeking its approval.
The TTD operates two ghat roads between Tirumala and Tirupati and collects fee as per the rates approved by the State government.
According to estimates about 4,000 to 4,500 four-wheelers ply on the ghat roads daily in addition to about 1,000 motorcycles fetching TTD a whopping revenue of around ₹4 crore annually.
