At their last meeting of the year last week, Roanoke School Board approved a bid for roofing projects at Handley High and Knight-Enloe Elementary schools. The board received six bids on the project and accepted the bid from Alabama Roofing in Anniston in the amount of $495,000. The work will begin as soon as possible and will be completed soon, weather permitting. Superintendent Chuck Marcum said the projects are being paid for out of the state bond money approved this year.
