India News: KOLKATA: Thousands of MGNREGA job card holders from West Bengal arrived here on Thursday on their way to New Delhi to participate in TMC's scheduled p.
According to party leaders, Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will lead the protest along with affected workers, and TMC supremo and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also join the protest.
Trinamool Congress will stage a protest rally in Delhi on 2 October over the issue of unpaid central dues to the West Bengal government, said TMC national general secretary and Lok Sabha member Abhishek Banerjee. The rally will be held on the occasion of the anniversary of Gandhi Jayanti. Ahead of the protest, there will be a "peaceful sit-in demonstration" in front of the homes of state BJP leaders. Banerjee also criticised the Union government over the activities of central investigative agencies operating in the state.
The sit-in at Mayo Road in the heart of the city will continue till Thursday night, party sources said.
