The ongoing auction for the development of fixed-bottom projects in the two areas off Akita and one off Chiba has already attracted much more attention, including the bids from the consortium of Ørsted, Japan Wind Development Co. (JWD), and Eurus Energy, the consortium of Ørsted and TEPCO Renewable Power, and the consortium of JERA, Equinor and Electric Power Development (J-Power).
Japan's industry ministry said on Friday it had chosen a consortium of six companies led by Toda Corporation to build the 16.8 megawatts (MW) Goto floating offshore wind farm in Nagasaki, southern Japan, in an auction.
Vestas has secured a 32MW turbine order with Toda Corporation for the Azumakogen wind farm in Fukushima prefecture, Japan. The project will be constructed by Toda Corporation and is set to feature nine V105-3.45 MW turbines in 3.MW operating mode. Towers will measure in at 84m. Delivery of the turbines will begin in the second quarter of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022. The project is part-owned by Japan Renewable Energy Corporation, Fukushima Mirai Kenkyukai, General Foundation and Shinobuyama Fukushima Power. Tags
