Lords Hotels and Resorts inks new property in Amreli, Gujarat

Lords Hotels and Resorts expand foot prints in Gujarat with the signing of Lords Eco Inn at Amreli. Since the company’s inception in 2008, Lords has grown to be a chain of 41 Hotels and Resorts spread across eleven states in India and also presence in adjoining country Nepal. With the demand for hotel rooms outpacing supply, the hotel chain is not only aiming at increasing its foot-prints at a faster rate but is also looking to venture into new geographies and focus on niche segments.
Amreli is well known for scenic beauty, historical monuments, edible oil mills, cotton mills, cement industries and electrical equipment factories to mention a few. Thailand approves 8 specific vaccines for foreign visitors
Thailand has approved a list of eight Covid-19 vaccine-makers, including Sinovac Biotech Ltd. and Pfizer Inc., for foreign visitors seeking to shorten a mandatory quarantine on arrival, reports Bloomberg.
Visitors to Thailand will need to upload copies of the vaccination certificates on the website of the nation’s Foreign Ministry prior to arrival to reduce the quarantine period to seven days. Those without vaccinations will still need to undergo 10 days of isolation and visitors from countries including South Africa will be subject to two-week quarantine.
The list of approved vaccine-makers are Sinovac, AstraZeneca Plc, SK Bioscience Co. Ltd., Pfizer, BioNTech SE, Serum Institute of India, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna Inc. and Sinopharm Group Co.

Maldivian appoints Bird Travels as GSA in Mumbai
Maldivian, the national carrier of the Republic of Maldives, owned and operated by Island Aviation Services Limited (IAS), has appointed Bird Travels Pvt. Ltd, the airline management service arm of Bird Group as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Mumbai. The appointment of Bird Travels is a move by the airline to build upon its presence in the international arena.
This GSA's appointment is part of Maldivian's expansion in India, which aims to strengthen the airline's sales team and provide support to the Indian travel trade. On the international front, the airline currently operates to India and Bangladesh from its main hub at Velana International Airport.

flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, will start flights to Tirana, the capital of Albania and with this will become the first UAE-based airline to offer direct flights on this route. The airline will operate two flights a week between Dubai International (DXB) and Tirana International Airport (TIA) from March 28. 
Commenting on the announcement, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO, flydubai, said, “As countries within our flying radius lift travel restrictions, we continue to look for new opportunities to connect previously underserved markets to Dubai.  We are pleased to be the first UAE-based airline to operate direct flights between Dubai and Tirana.”

Noida International Airport signs state support agreement with UP

A state support agreement was signed between Noida International Airport (NIA) and the Government of UP in Lucknow today, in the presence of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, S.P. Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Arunvir Singh, CEO, NIAL, Christoph Schnellmann, CEO, NIA and Kiran Jain, COO, NIA. 
The agreement lays down the state government’s support to establish and continuously improve surface access to the airport, establish and expand utilities required to run the airport (water, electricity, waste water), maintain law and order, including monitoring at the airport and grant the necessary clearances to build and operate the airport. The agreement marks another important milestone towards the implementation of Noida International Airport and the much-needed aviation infrastructure in the NCR region and in Uttar Pradesh. UP government’s continued support towards the project has been integral in enabling YIAPL in building a world-class airport. This partnership will bring progress to the State of Uttar Pradesh and will bolster the Indian aviation’s growth story.

KTM Virtual 2021 meet to be held from March 1 to March 5

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the March 1-5 virtual Kerala Travel Mart 2021 (KTM), an event hat will give an aggressive push to the state’s tourism that suffered a huge blow in the wake of the COVID pandemic but is now showing signs of resurgence.
This is for the first time that the event, which ensures a stellar convergence of domestic and foreign buyers in the vital sector, is being held virtually and in strict observance of the pandemic protocols.
Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran will chair the inaugural function at the Uday Palace Convention Centre at Kowdiar in the heart of the city on February 28 at 7.30 pm. Finance Minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac will be the chief guest at the ceremony being organised by KTM Society, which is India’s biggest organisation in the travel and tourism segment.
