Travelers need negative RT-PCR result to enter Bacolod

March 16, 2021
THE City Government of Bacolod will still require the negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results for travelers entering the city.
This was stressed by Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical data and analysis of Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF), on Monday, March 15, after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) earlier announced that they will issue a memorandum circular on the uniform travel protocols for local government units (LGUs).
Sorongon said that as part of the travel guidelines, the city will still require a negative RT-PCR test result upon entry from the point of origin.

Lockdown not on the table, but lax travel rules under review

March 08, 2021
DEPARTMENT of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire on Monday, March 8, 2021, said a massive lockdown to give health workers a timeout is not on the table despite the rising cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
She said healthcare utilization across the country is still manageable, although there has been an increase in emergency room consultations and hospital admissions.
“When we went around nakita natin dumadami po talaga ang mga tao sa ER, ang may mga sintomas ng Covid. Pero to say that the system is overwhelmed? No,” she said in a virtual press briefing Monday.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, however, will review its decision to relax travel protocols, according to Secretary Vince Dizon, deputy chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19.

February 27, 2021
TRAVELERS will no longer be mandated to undergo a Covid-19 test except when required by the local government unit (LGU) of their destination, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases said.
No traveler will be required to undergo quarantine unless he or she manifests symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) upon arrival.
These new rules are contained in Resolution No. 101, which the IATF approved on Friday, February 26, 2021 to standardize travel protocols for land, air and sea.
The IATF also removed the documentary requirements for travelers.
There will no longer be a need for a travel authority from the Joint Task Force Covid Shield.
