Interview: Sarah Gorden of TIN CAT SHOES at Nutley Little Theatre

Nutley Little Theatre presents Tin Cat Shoes, written by Trish Harnetiaux and directed by Sarah Gorden. I had the pleasure of interview Sarah. Tin Cat Shoes is a madcap odyssey through a wilderness of corporate bureaucracy and crippling human dependencies. Blessed with the can-do American spirit, a troop of dedicated shoe store employees embark on a journey of personal expansion. But when 'work is your life' and systems breakdown, all that remains is you, a casino, and the truth.

Playwrights Horizons and MCC Theater To Present the World Premiere Of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s WET BRAIN

Playwrights Horizons and MCC Theater will present the world premiere of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s Wet Brain, directed by Dustin Wills. A terrifyingly inventive look at addiction's ability to transform one's existence and relationships, Wet Brain offers an American family drama that is not only freed from realism, but also, perhaps unmoored from Earth itself.

32nd Playwrights’ Forum Festival Since 1983, regional playwrights have come together to showcase their original one-acts and discuss the world of theater at this annual festival hosted by Spokane Civic Theatre. To kick off the fun, there’s a panel covering the ins and outs of the artform, including the business side of playwriting, the joys and challenges of working with playwrights from the director’s perspective, and how to navigate the world of theater in Eastern Washington. There’s also a presentation from this year’s keynotes, Bryan and Trish Harnetiaux, during which the Dramatist Guild members discuss how to find your own path in the playwright world. Two sets of one-act plays are staged on an alternating schedule over the course of four days, featuring a total of 11 different performances.

Review: In 'California,' a Road Trip and a Detour Into Darkness

The playwright Trish Harnetiaux’s new show, set entirely in a car, follows a family of travelers. It bravely, if not entirely satisfyingly, explores alternate realities.
