The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended the partial coronavirus curfew in the state till 7 am on May 31. A decision was taken in this regard following a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Kanpur.
Earlier, the UP government had imposed the restrictions till 7 am on May 24.
"The Uttar Pradesh government is committed to safeguard the life and livelihood of people of the state. Keeping this in mind, the policy of partial coronavirus curfew was adopted," a state government statement said, adding that the measure gave positive results.

The Uttar Pradesh government on May 3 extended the COVID-induced lockdown in the state by two more days till 7 am of Thursday ( May 6). 
It is to be noted that the restrictions imposed by the state government were slated to be lifted on May 4 but the curbs will now remain in place till May 6, 7 AM. “The corona curfew from Friday 8 pm to Tuesday 7 am has been extended for 48 hours. Now it will continue till May 6 till 7 am,” Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal said. Sehgal added that the arrangement is for this week only.

In a significant development, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to extend the partial 'corona curfew' till 7 AM on May 10, said ACS Information Navneet Sehgal.
Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh had decided to extend the COVID-19 curfew till May 6, 7 AM. “The corona curfew from Friday 8 pm to Tuesday 7 am has been extended for 48 hours. Now it will continue till May 6 till 7 am,” Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal had said.

UP lockdown extended: Here's who will get e-pass exemption for travel within state
As the Uttar Pradesh government extended weekend lockdown further by two more days till Thursday 7 am, the state administration on Wednesday issued a list of those who will get exemption from e-pass. According to an official notification, industrial activities, medical and essential services, and its vehicles, e-commerce operators, people with a medical emergency, people related to post office print, electronic and internet services will not need an e-pass to travel during the lockdown in the state.
Those who want to travel during the curfew to avail services apart from the services listed can apply for an e-pass by visiting the official portal of Uttar Pradesh Revenue Department.

The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a weekend lockdown in the state to tackle soaring Covid-19 cases. Besides, the government has also ordered that night curfew will continue in all the 75 districts from 8 PM to 7 AM daily. 
Awanish K Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, told ANI that all essential services will be exempted during the lockdown period and night restrictions.
"Weekend lockdown to be imposed in UP on Saturdays and Sundays. Lockdown will come into effect on Friday at 8 pm and continue till Monday at 7 am. Only essential services will be allowed. Night curfew will remain imposed in all districts," Awasthi said.
