Synopsis
"Sasikala is not a member of the AIADMK and has no links whatsoever to the party.I myself and AIADMK deputy coordinator K P Munuswamy have already made this amply clear," he told reporters at the party headquarters here.
The AIADMK leader also recalled that Sasikala herself had already announced ahead of the April 6 Assembly polls that she was opting to stay away from politics.
AIADMK top leader K Palaniswami on Friday asserted that the party's stand is that V K Sasikala and her family have no place in it and rebutted claims of differences with party coordinator O Panneerselvam. Denouncing the "bid to create confusion" in the party by leaking audio clips (in which Sasikala indicated that she would revive attempts to regain control of AIADMK), Palaniswami, the party co-coordinator, said such attempts would not succeed. The former Chief Minister said he had no differences with his party colleague O Panneerselvam (OPS)

Though the MNM, NTK and AMMK have not won a single seat, they have split the vote in many constituencies
The Tamil Nadu Assembly 2021 elections have once again revealed the dominance of the two Dravidian majors -- DMK and AIADMK -- as no candidate outside the alliance of these two parties has managed to secure a win.
But the multi-cornered contest also revealed that smaller parties cannot be discounted as they can make or break the prospects of a candidate in a tightly contested election such as the current one.

Has Kovilpatti defeat put paid to TTV Dhinakaran's hopes of reclaiming the AIADMK?

Express News Service
THOOTHUKUDI: Will 2021 be remembered as the election that ended TTV Dhinakaran's quixotic quest to reclaim the AIADMK? Possibly, after minister Kadambur C Raju managed to retain his seat in Kovilpatti by defeating the AMMK general secretary in a battle within the battle.
Although Raju ultimately prevailed, he only held a slender lead over Dhinakaran for the better part of the counting of votes for the constituency. The much-anticipated clash between the AIADMK and AMMK, formed with the goal of 'reclaiming the AIADMK', had managed to attract the attention of the entire state.
While Raju finally secured 68,556 votes and won, AMMK's Dhinakaran garnered 56,153 votes. The CPM candidate K Srinivasan managed only 37,380 votes and ended up in third place.
