Some indigenous people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Thursday staged a protest against what they described as forceful encroachment on their lands by the Nigerian Army. The protesters said they are original indigenes of Abuja and that their farmlands are being forcibly taken over by the army without adequate compensation. He said the military did not only destroy their farm produce but now destroyed their houses and properties to intimidate them.
