Kuala Lumpur: Standing at 184cm tall, the possibility of Muhammad Arsyad Md Saat
(pic) emerging as the country’s next sprint king looks very promising after winning the men’s 100m event of the Malaysia Athletics Grand Prix at the National Sports Council Mini Stadium in Bukit Jalil, last Saturday.
It was indeed a double joy for the 18-year-old Johorean athlete after he set a new personal best of 10.62s, compared to 10.70s which he recorded at the Malaysian Schools Sports Council meet in 2019.
Muhammad Arsyad’s victory created an upset for the national athlete from Sarawak, Jonathan Nyepa who only managed to secure the second spot with 10.70s while Muhammad Azeem Mohd Fahmi from Perak came in third with 10.85s.
