Srinagar: National Conference (NC) is not against the Women Reservation Bill and has no objection if it is implemented, party vice president Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday.

After an inordinate delay, the much awaited and long-pending demand of several political parties, the Centre on Tuesday introduced a Bill to provide 33 per cent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies. The Bill, known as the “Narishakti Vandan Adhiniyam”, was introduced 

The Bill tabled in Parliament is a promise — its fulfilment must await the delimitation exercise, which itself is contingent on the completion of the Census exercise. The Bill also does not have details of how the reserved seats will be chosen
