KOTA KINABALU: Hundreds of Sugud families were on the road to recovery from the devastating Sept 15 "mud tsunami" when another round of floods hit Tuesday (Oct 12), bringing back tonnes of mud into their homes.
According to the Hong Kong Observatory, the typhoon is expected to get over by Wednesday evening, and things will be normal soon.
Typhoon Kompasu, the eighth storm to hit Việt Nam this year, will land between the central provinces of Thanh Hóa to Quảng Bình and weaken to a tropical depression by 4pm on Thursday.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology on October 12 issued a warning that rainstorms and dangerous sea conditions will continue in coastal areas and the central lowlands, which could present risks for people, especially for fishermen.
