The execution of over N490million water schemes project in Gashua, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, has been fraught with corruption and therefore abandoned as the residents continue to suffer the harrowing effects. According to investigations, the project was awarded by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in 2020 and is situated in the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s senatorial district in Yobe North.

National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) releases full list of the new members of it executives elected at its weekend convention

The newly elected leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) will be meeting the Nigerian government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) towards ending the eight-month-old strike by university lecturers. The new NANS president, Comrade Umar Barambu, disclosed this during an exclusive interview with SaharaReporters on Saturday. Barambu, a student of Economics and Development Studies of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, was on Saturday declared the NANS President.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comrade Umar Barambu from the Federal University, Dutse  as its new President. Barambu, a student of Economics and Development Studies got 292 votes to defeat his closest rival, Umar Farouk Lawan who scored only 8 votes. The election was held at the old parade ground, Abuja. Barambu is a former students’ union president, joint campus committee chairman and Zone A cordinator. He is to succeed Asefon Sunday Dayo, the outgoing NANS President.
