　　而鲍威尔在2018年接掌美联储后，更是将这一数字提高到每年八次，并在每次美联储政策会议后安排新闻发布会。
　　虽然对美联储政策文件和演讲稿正式内容的分析越来越普遍，但NBER发表这项研究报告的作者指出，这是第一次使用现代分析工具评估美联储主席的情绪语气对市场的影响，并与其讲话内容含义或采取的任何政策行动是分开研究的。
　　该研究使用机器学习技术和语音记录数据库，将伯南克、耶伦和鲍威尔在2011年4月至2019年7月的36场新闻发布会上对692个问题的回答，从高兴、惊喜、中性、悲伤和愤怒五种情绪中选出一种。这为每次会议前后的市场结果提供了单独的分析。
　　这段时期早于新冠病毒大流行，当时像“心碎”这样的词（这是鲍威尔去年经常说的一个词）扩大了美联储主席带来的情绪范围。
