Google updates its cross-platform Flutter UI toolkit – TechCrunch

Google updates its cross-platform Flutter UI toolkit Flutter, Google’s cross-platform UI toolkit for building mobile and desktop apps, is getting a small but important update at the company’s I/O conference today. Google also announced that Flutter now powers 200,000 apps in the Play Store alone, including popular apps from companies like WeChat, ByteDance, BMW, Grab and DiDi. Indeed, Google notes that one in eight new apps in the Play Store are now Flutter apps. Windows 10X was probably going to suck anyway

The latest word on the street is that Microsoft’s new Windows 10X operating system has been put on the back burner for now or maybe cancelled completely. A release date was never really announced, but it had been touted for a while as releasing with the Surface Neo dual-screen tablet in the fall of 2020. The .NET Foundation was set up by Microsoft in 2014, around the time that the cross-platform and open-source .NET Core was first announced, the idea being to support the .NET ecosystem. Between November 2020 and March 2...

With the new Microsoft Edge, you can almost use the Xbox Series S/X for productivity

Source: Windows Central A long time ago, I interviewed former Xbox CVP Mike Ybarra about the future of Xbox, and what Universal Windows Platform (UWP) apps could mean for the platform. Jokingly, we discussed getting the UWP version of Microsoft Office onto Xbox, enabling users to potentially turn their consoles into productivity devices. Well, thanks to the new Microsoft Edge, we're almost there (???). There are a few bugs, given that this is pre-release software available in the Xbox Insider Program, but I am typing this article up on my Xbox, with full mouse and keyboard support, using Micr...
