As many as 396 MLAs on Monday cast their votes in the bypoll to two vacant seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for which both the ruling BJP and the Samajwadi Party have fielded candidates.
As per the ECI's latest trend at 10.00 am, Samajwadi Party is leading in the Suar constituency and Apana Dal is leading in Chhanbey. As per the officials, counting for the votes will start at 8.00 am and all the necessary arrangements were made for the same. A total of 774 polling booths have been set up by the Election Commission at 492 polling centres in the two constituencies.
Bypolls on Uttar Pradesh's two assembly seats -- Suar and Chhanbey -- will be held on May 10 and counting of votes will take place on May 13, election office said in Lucknow on Wednesday.
