"I can't believe I didn't listen to the clips before buying this. These are the original artists but not the original recordings. They're "new stereo recordings" which are just enough different from the originals to be intolerable. The "new recordings" warning is on the outside of the CD - why can't Amazon put it on the web page? Save your money for the versions you loved when you were growing up."

"Andreas Vollenweider has created great music and this has his best songs. The only other album I own by him is "Dancing With The Lion". My dad bought the cassette a long time ago, I listen to it sometimes but not a lot. Andreas Vollenweider is the second harp player I heard, the first was Hillary Stagg and I can see a big difference in their music mostly because of the background instruments. All of the songs on the album were good but I found "Wanja The Wanderer" a bit strange and so did my dad when he listened to it, so I don't think I'll get his album "Kryptos". Here are my favorite songs: Behind the Gardens, Flight Feet and Root Hands, Belladonna, See My Love, Moon Dance, Dancing With The Lion, Night Fire Dance and Cor Do Amor. The only reason I gave the album 4 stars was because some songs sounded a bit strange. The bonus material on this CD includes: songs with new mixes, mulltimedia cd including the music video of pearls and tears and a new song "Pace Verde"

more »ng romantic like Ed Harcourt, that of the masters you seek to emulate. By the time he was 23, he'd already earned a prestigious Mercury Prize nomination for his major-label debut, Here Be Monsters, and a reputation for writing songs faster than Ryan Adams (over 300 and counting at the time). Released three years after this initial adulatory wave, From Every Sphere opens with a gorgeous slice of orchestral pop called "Bittersweet Heart." It would work well in a set by Rufus Wainwright or Badly Drawn Boy , but in melody and attitude it doesn't add anything new to a sound Brian Wilson pioneered close to 40 years ago. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but hardly the stuff of musical revolutions. And that's both the charm and limitation of From Every Sphere's 12 songs: They're all pretty good, but you could easily imagine them being done by someone else, whether it's Turin Brakes, Eric Matthews, or High Llamas. From Every Sphere is tasteful and even rewarding at times; it just doesn't expand much on Harcourt's promise. --Keith Moerer
