Tehzeeb Festival ends with focus on Sindh, Balochistan - Newspaper

KARACHI: The four-day 12th Tehzeeb Festival concluded online on Monday evening with no fewer than eight performances recorded in Karachi.
Since the session took place in the capital of Sindh, artists from Sindh and Balochistan took part in the last day’s event.
The show kicked off with alghoza nawaz Akbar Khamisu Khan’s delightful instrumental. Listening to musicians such as him makes one believe that folk and Sufi music in Pakistan is thriving and going from strength to strength. He is the son of the renowned alghoza player Khamisu Khan.
What followed was a heart-warming rendition of raga Yaman by sitar player Ritika Dhanja. The young woman, who hails from Hyderabad, played the instrument with endearing creative flair.

Neelima Azeem has been one of those actresses who have lived her life on her own terms and has also been open about it. She has been appearing in films again after a short hiatus and was recently seen in movies like Dolly, Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and The Illegal. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about her failed marriages with actors Pankaj Kapur and with Rajesh Khattar and what she feels had happened.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, she revealed that the first marriage was like a bump in life that she needed but she never thought something like that could happen. She revealed, "I had this wonderful friend who I got married to, everything was just la-la-la-da-di-da, my parents were wonderful, I had a great crowd around me, toh mujhe ye pata hi nahi tha ke kuch zindagi mein aisa bhi ho sakta hai jisme pav phisal jaye aur hum dup kar ke ghir jaaye (I wasn't aware that one could slip in life and fall flat). Aur rejection ka koi sawaal hi nahi hai (there was no question of rejection) because everybody used to love me and adore me and follow me around. So it was, in that way, when you're young and full of beans, it was the first time when I actually experienced grief, sorrow, rejection, anxiety, pain and fear of the unknown and a whole lot of insecurity."

PNCA postpones programmes due to Covid-19

Islamabad: Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has postponed many of its programmes due to the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic while the rest are shifted to outdoor venues.
The following project time were revised including concert of Ustad Raza Ali Khan (Classical) - 6 pm at PNCA courtyard, Youth Drama Festival 15th-19th March 2021 - 10:00 am - 11:30 am, 04:00 pm - 05:30 pm, Bethak with Syed Farooq Qaiser - 17th March 2021 - 11:00 am. And Nowruz celebrations - 20th March 2021 - 6:30 pm. The online programs of PNCA will continue.

To keep and revive the tradition of classical music alive, a colourful and vibrant event titled 'RAGISTAN' was held at the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) in which Ustad Raza Ali Khan of ‘Kasur Gharana’ performed at the PNCA open-air theatre.
The event has been initiated by the PNCA for the preservation and promotion of classical music, said a press statement on Saturday.

Islamabad : The Pakistan National Council of the Arts has announced that the third wave of coronavirus has forced it into postponing many of its programmes and shifting the rest to outdoor venues.
According to the PNCA, the events will have limited audience and will be
held with the strict enforcement of the standard operating procedures notified by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
"All events will be streamed live on the PNCA Facebook Page, so you can enjoy them while sitting at home," it said.
The revised events include concert of Ustad Raza Ali Khan (Classical) – 6 pm at PNCA courtyard, Youth Drama Festival on March 15-19 at 10 am-11:30 am and 4pm-5:30 pm, Bethak with puppeteer Farooq Qaiser on March 17 at 11 am and Nowruz celebrations on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. The online programmes will continue.
