COVID-19: Home Guard Arrested, 2 Unnao Policemen Missing After Death Of UP Teen Who Was Thrashed

A home guard who was dismissed from service for his alleged involvement in the death of a teenaged boy in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district was today arrested in connection with the case. Two police constables - also accused in the alleged crime - are on the run and efforts are being made to locate them, police officials said.
A murder case has been filed against all of them.
"We have arrested one accused while the other two police constables are on the run. Efforts are being made to trace them. We have conducted raids at various places to trace them. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty," the police said in a statement.

UP extends partial corona curfew till May 17

UP had reported 26,847 new cases on Saturday, with 34,721 recoveries and 298 deaths. It has 2.46 lakh active cases currently.
Uttar Pradesh has extended it's "partial corona curfew" a second time to May 17 to disrupt the chain of transmission of the Covid-19 surge. It had earlier extended the curfew from May 6 to May 10.

LUCKNOW: The state government has extended the ongoing curfew in UP till 7am on Monday (May 10), making this a nine-day partial lockdown. The decision was taken, said officials, as the government is getting good results in slowing down transmission of Covid cases during the curfew.
The government has made it compulsory to apply for an e-pass for movement during the curfew. However, the home department on Wednesday exempted certain categories of people from applying for the e-pass. These include those involved in industrial activity, medical and essential services and transport for the same, staff expected to be on duty for medical and health facilities and at industrial units, those involved in e-commerce operations, persons requiring to travel for medical emergencies, personnel of telephone, postal and internet services and media.

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government will issue an e-pass for those travelling during the ‘corona curfew’. On Monday (May 3), UP had increased the period of curfew till 7 am on May 6 (Thursday) in view of the alarming upswing in COVID-19 cases.
The curfew was earlier scheduled to be in force till May 4. Now, all shops and establishments will remain closed till Thursday 7 am. Earlier, the UP government had announced that weekend lockdowns will include Mondays as well.

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday decided to increase the duration of the weekend lockdown by 48 hours to cover Tuesday and Wednesday also.
"The corona curfew from Friday 8 pm to Tuesday 7 am has been extended for 48 hours. Now it will continue till May 6 till 7 am," Additional Chief Secretary, Information, Navneet Sehgal told PTI.
All shops and establishments will now remain closed till Thursday 7 am.
This arrangement is for this week only, he said adding that decision has been taken for breaking the chain of coronavirus.

LUCKNOW: Amid the spike in the Covid-19 cases across the state, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday announced the extension of the partial lockdown till May 7.
According to an order issued by additional chief secretary Navneet Sehgal, the partial 'corona curfew' imposed in Uttar Pradesh has been extended till 7am on May 6.
The restrictions were slated to be lifted on Tuesday (May 4) morning. This is the second extension of lockdown-like curfew in the country's most populous state.
