Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to pull-off an unprecedented third straight election victory with a full majority for his coalition, as per exit polls released on Saturday. The National Democratic Alliance is projected to increase its Lok Sabha strength from 352 in 2019 to 361, based on an averaging of key exit polls. The alliance is set to retain its hold over much of northern, central and western India, while improving on its performance in the east and south.
Wrapping up the Lok Sabha election 2024 , 57 parliamentary seats cast their vote in the final round of the election on Saturday registering a near 59.50 % turnout vis a vis the 65.3% in 2019 for the same phase. The overall voter turnout for the 2024 general elections appears to be near 1.25 percentage points lower than the 2019 Lok Sabha polls when a record turnout was registered at 67.4%- the highest recorded Lok Sabha voter turnout in India so far.
