China on Wednesday held a Forum on Global Human Rights Governance, with more than 300 scholars, officials and experts of the United Nations and nongovernmental organizations from nearly 100 countries sharing their views on how to promote human rights development amid the increasing threat of geopolitical conflicts.
Forum on Global Human Rights Governance opens in Beijing-
The Communist Party of China has made significant strides in promoting democracy, human rights, and rule of law in China, said Robert Kuhn, a renowned US expert on China and also the chairman of the Kuhn Foundationin his speech at the Forum on Global Human Rights Governance.
Adhering to the people-centered thinking on development is an important internal factor for the continuous historic achievements of the Chinese power cause. China's human rights governance practice is guided by unique human rights concepts with common values and Chinese characteristics. China has won a comprehensive victory in the battle against poverty, with nearly 1 million rural poor people lifted out of absolute poverty under the current standards. All 832 poverty-stricken counties have been removed, and all 12,8 poverty- stricken villages have been listed.
