In a post on X, ISRO said: "Efforts have been made to establish communication with the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover to ascertain their wake-up condition. As of now, no signals have been received from them."
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been unsuccessful in establishing contact with the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover, which landed on the lunar surface on August 23. ISRO stated that efforts to communicate with the lander and rover will continue. Union Minister of State Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh said that this could be due to the prolonged spell of cold weather conditions during which temperature drops below -150 degree C.
The Vikram lander touched down near the moon's south pole on August 23 during the Chandrayaan-3 mission and was put to sleep after a conducting various experiments on the surface of the moon.
