In the aftermath of the violence in Nuh, the state government has cleared all the land-related hurdles for setting up a camp of CRPF's anti-riot unit, Rapid Action Force (RAF), at Indri village in the district, nearly five years after the approval from the Centre.
The violence in Nuh between two groups, which led to the death of six people, had a larger conspiracy behind it, says Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij. Around 44 FIRs have been registered, while 116 people have been arrested and are under investigation, according to Vij. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar confirmed the deaths of six people, with four civilians and two homeguards.
Violent clashes broke out between two factions in Mewat Nuh, Haryana. The Haryana Police said "The fight started after young men stopped Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Khedla Mod in Nuh". Stones were pelted and cars were set on fire during the religious procession. Some of the police cars have sustained damage.
"In a well-planned and conspiratorial manner, the attack was carried out in Nuh to disrupt the (Brij Mandal Jalabhishek) yatra and the police were also targeted, which points to a larger conspiracy," Khattar said in a tweet in Hindi. Security forces sent by the central and state governments are currently stationed there and the situation has been brought under control, he further tweeted. So far, 44 FIRs have been registered and 70 people taken into custody, he said.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has sought an inquiry into alleged use of children in stone pelting and other illegal activities during the recent communal flare-up in Nuh district of Haryana. In a letter to Haryana administration, the apex child rights body has sought their urgent attention and action regarding the alleged exploitation of children in the Monday's violence.
