Microsoft is introducing "hot patching" with the Windows 11 24H2 update, allowing for seamless installation of security patches without restarting your PC.
A reboot is required after the installation of many updates for Windows. This is definitely the case for the monthly cumulative security updates, but also for other updates. Windows 11 displays popups to the user when a restart is required, which can be disruptive.

Microsoft is releasing two small servicing channels to members of the Windows Insider Program who are a part of the Dev Channel. Neither of these new builds contain any new features.
