Punjab election: State Election panel to conduct webcasting to avoid violations of code of conduct

To prevent any kind of alleged poll-related model code of conduct violations during the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections 2022, the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer, on the directions of the Election Commission of India, will arrange webcasting in all the 24,689 polling stations in the state, said a press release.

Election Commission of India is celebrating 11th National Voters Day today. The Election Commission of India will formally launch the e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card) programme Monday, (January 25), the National Voters' Day.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Law and Justice, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology will distribute e-EPICs and Elector Photo Identity Cards to five new voters, said ECI in a statement on its website. Other identity proofs like the Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving licence are already available in the digital format.

GHMC has informed that all the voters of Hyderabad district are eligible to take the ‘e-EPIC’ — a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of the EPIC — and this can be verified using authentic and secure QR code reader application. But, till this month-end only the newly enrolled electors with unique mobile (separate mobile number for each voter ID application) can download e-EPIC.
From February 1, all electors can download e-EPIC having unique mobile number in the e-roll. If the voter does not have a separate mobile number, they would have to do e-KYC following which they can download e-EPIC from https://nvsp.in or https://voterportal.eci.gov.in or through Voter Helpline Mobile app (Android/iOS), a press release said.

New Delhi, Jan 24: The Election Commission is set to launch the e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card) programme on January 25, which is the National Voter's Day.
e-EPIC is a non-editable secure portable document format (PDF) version of the EPIC and will have a secured QR code with image and demographics like serial number, part number, etc. E-EPIC can be downloaded on a mobile or a computer and can be digitally stored. This is in addition to physical IDs being issued for fresh registration.

Voter-ID cards to go digital from January 25, know how to download it

The e-EPIC initiative would be launched in two phases. In the first phase from January 25 to 31, all new voters who have applied for the voter-ID card and registered their mobile numbers in Form-6 will be able to download the e-EPIC by simply authenticating their mobile number. The mobile numbers should be unique and not be previously registered in the ECI's electoral rolls.
