Western Australia has recorded no new local COVID-19 cases overnight after more than 16,000 tests were carried out on Monday in a bid to detect any outbreak.

"This is our second zero day in a row now. Given the amount of testing completed this is very encouraging news," WA Premier Mark McGowan said.
