Paul Bettany Regrets Joke About 'WandaVision' Finale, Warns Fans Might Be Disappointed

Paul Bettany Regrets Joke About ‘WandaVision’ Finale, Warns Fans Might Be Disappointed
03/04/21 AT 11:56 AM
Paul Bettany may have underestimated Marvel fans’ obsession with theorizing. The “WandaVision” star didn’t realize that a joke he made teasing an actor he’s “always wanted to work with” would be taken a bit too seriously.
In January, Bettany teased an appearance that hadn’t been spoiled by anyone on the internet.
“So many things get leaked, but there’s this thing that has been completely under wraps that happens and I work with this actor that I’ve always wanted to work with and we have fireworks together,” he told the Lights Camera Barstool podcast (via The Playlist). “The scenes are great, and I think people are going to be really excited. I’ve always wanted to work with this guy and the scenes are pretty intense.”

At the moment, only one Avenger has the power to tackle the magical abilities that Scarlet Witch possesses: Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Director of WandaVision, Matt Shakman, recently spoke up about the show’s ending, revealing: “We were trying to tell a complete story in terms of the narrative around Westview, N.J.” Throughout WandaVision Wanda altered reality around her to keep her husband alive. Not only did she create a fake 1950s sitcom, she also changed the way the town of Westview looked.

WandaVision theory: Agatha Harkness has already begun House of M

If Agatha has already removed Wanda’s twins from existence, Agatha’s attack on Wanda in the last moments of the episode could be the beginning of her wiping her memory.
This would also mean House of M has already begun and it is only a matter of time before Wanda snaps herself out of Agatha’s spell and realises her children are gone.
What would follow is the aforementioned House of M scenario in which Wanda would attempt to recreate her children, but instead create the entire mutant race.
It has also been theorised that Agatha’s arrival in the MCU will spark the beginning of the next Doctor Strange movie - Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

'WandaVision' and the Secret Language of Sitcom Costume Design

With
WandaVision reviving everyone’s love of vintage sitcoms, we decided it was time to take a closer look at the genre. This week’s
Behind the Seams video delves into the history of sitcom fashion, beginning with black-and-white shows like
I Love Lucy, and covering sitcoms like The Brady Bunch, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Friends, and
The Good Place.
Sitcoms have their own visual language, opting for bright lights and a colorful palette to emphasize their lighthearted tone. They invariably look very different from the grey, serious color scheme you see in crime dramas. They’re also a lot more trendy. As we explain in this video, sitcoms love to include fashion choices that quickly go out of style—partly because contemporary costumes are relatable, and partly because they’re funny. That’s why vintage sitcoms often look so rooted in a specific era—and why they’re a great choice for a genre-savvy homage like

WandaVision Ep 1, 2 & 3 Review: Elizabeth Olsen & Paul Bettany provide MCU fans with an extraordinary vision.
Series Name: WandaVision
WandaVision Director: Matt Shakman
WARNING: Spoilers Ahead!
Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have been eagerly awaiting the beginning of MCU Phase 4. In the pre-COVID era, the new chapter of the studio would have started with the release of Black Widow. However, the pandemic forced Marvel Studios to shift gears and now, they enter the new phase with WandaVision. The small screen series releases on Disney Plus this weekend with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda and Vision. While the roles seem familiar, the world of WandaVision isn't all that familiar, at least not to the Marvel fans who've been introduced to the characters via the Avengers movies.

There’s plenty to look forward to in 2021, like for instance leaving your house again with a bicep pumped full of vaccine. But until it’s safe to do so, television will be there, and thankfully 2021 holds a wealth of exciting new programming across the ever-expanding streaming landscape.
Although networks don’t share their release schedules more than a month or two ahead, all of these shows have been rumored to be ready for release sometime this year. Whether the coronavirus pandemic has derailed those plans is uncertain, but with any luck, these 10 shows will arrive on your screen in 2021.
