Coronavirus NSW update: One new locally acquired COVID-19 case linked to Berala cluster, six in hotel quarantine


There is an urgent warning for any NSW residents or visitors who quarantined at the Grand Chancellor Hotel in Brisbane.
Anyone who completed their 14-day isolation there must immediately get tested and go into isolation for another two weeks, from the date they were last at the hotel.
They must also contact NSW Health urgently.
LIVE UPDATES:
Six cases of the UK COVID-19 variant have now been linked to the hotel, and the variant is known to spread more easily from person to person than other strains, NSW Health said.
The Queensland Government has notified NSW Health there were NSW people staying at the hotel who have since returned home.

NSW records five locally acquired coronavirus cases as Northern Beaches cluster grows

NSW has recorded five new locally-acquired cases of COVID-19 including the previously-reported cases of a man who attended Mount Druitt Hospital while sick and his partner.
The five cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday came from fewer than 14,700 tests, which Premier Gladys Berejiklian said was insufficient.
Of the five, two cases - known to each other - were situated on Sydney's Northern Beaches, and one directly linked to the 27-person Berala cluster.

NSW Health urges anyone in NSW with even the mildest symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat or runny nose, to come forward immediately for testing, then isolate until they receive a negative result.
