Mission to keep harbour clean
An avid swimmer has set up a new group titled the 'Wicklow Harbour Cleaners' in an effort to keep the local quayside and harbour litter free. The group was established by Heidi Sheehy, who is a regular visitor to Wicklow Harbour, and they held their first community clean-up on Tuesday, with close to 20 volunteers taking part. Heidi was inspired to act after noticing the amount of rubbish and plastic discarded in and around the harbour, a lot of which ends up in the sea, causing a potential threat to sea mammals and wildlife.
