Microsoft has announced that the word processor WordPad will no longer be part of its operating system in the future. The tool has been on board the operating system for 28 years. Its history ranges from Windows 95 to the current Windows 11. It is still unclear on what date and with which update exactly Microsoft Word Pad will throw out of its software range. But one thing is clear: If you work with the program frequently, you should look for an alternative. The company decided to retire its digital voice assistant Cortana – at least in the form of a standalone app.
