Xiaomi launches Mi 11 smartphone with 108MP camera, Snapdragon 888 chipset

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship smartphone "Mi 11" in the global market through a virtual event that features Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform, making it one of the first smartphones to come with this processor.
The smartphone comes in two storage variants -- 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB at Euro 749 and Euro 799, respectively -- and it will be available from March.
Xiaomi Mi 11 features 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with WQHD+ resolution, a 120Hz maximum refresh rate and 1500 nits maximum brightness. It supports HDR10+ and 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display is housed in a minimal-bezel chassis with a 91.4 per cent screen to body ratio and protected by the toughest Gorilla Glass Victus.

Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship Mi 11 for global markets, nearly two months after the phone debuted in China. The Xiaomi Mi was the first device to commercially come out with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and as expected, the global model also features the same mobile processor. The global variant comes in two storage options, and the packaging includes a 55W GaN charger. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the MIUI 12.5 will rollout to Mi 11 as well as other models such as Mi 10 series, Redmi Note 9 series, and Redmi 9 series.

Xiaomi will officially unveil its current flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 11 for global markets on February 8. Ahead of the launch event, a notable tipster has shared its alleged global pricing details for the two variants that are significantly higher than the Mi 11 prices in China. Xiaomi will also unveil the next-gen MIUI 12.5 during the global launch event next week. Some of the notable features of the Mi 11 include 6.81-inch Quad-HD+ display, 108-megapixel primary camera, and 5G support.
According to 91Mobiles in collaboration with tipster Sudhanshu, the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option of the Xiaomi Mi 11 will start from EUR 799 (approx Rs 70,000). In contrast, the 8GB + 256GB storage variant will be priced at EUR 899 (approx Rs 78,500), as per the report citing the tipster. The global prices are significantly higher than the Mi 11 prices in China that start at CNY 3,999 (approx Rs 45,000) and go up to CNY 4,699 (approx Rs 52,900) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. It seems the global model will not come with 12GB RAM option. The Mi 11 global launch event will take place on February 8 at 5:30 PM IST. The Chinese tech company is yet to share its India-specific launch details.
