An Australian man says he nearly fainted when work finally finished on his custom-built home and he realized he really only had “half a house”.
Bishnu Aryal, who moved to Sydney from Nepal, reportedly saved for 10 years to buy a plot of land in Edmonson Park for AUS$398,950 ($388,400). In 2016, he hired Zac Homes to build him a detached home for AUS$322,400 ($313,900), news.com.au reports.

A Sydney man who spent A$700,000 ($755,940) on his home only to be left with "half-a-house" has hit out at the building company, claiming he wasn't given "any notice" regarding the change in plans.
Nepalese man Bishnu Aryal moved to Australia and put down a deposit on a A$398,950 ($430,833) block of land in Edmondson Park where he planned to build the perfect home for his family.

A man said he “nearly fainted” after he discovered builders had built his family “half a house”, and claimed he wasn’t informed about the design by the company.
Bishnu Aryal, who moved from Nepal to Sydney, paid a total of AU$700,000 (approximately £392,792) for his house in Edmondson Park.
But three years after he employed the services of Zac Homes to build a custom off-plan home worth AU$322,400, he was left in shock when he discovered his free-standing build had been turned into a duplex.

As shocked as Bishnu Aryal was to find out his dream home was a "half house", at least he's not alone.
There are two other houses, just a stone's throw from Mr Aryal's $721,000 home, that likewise only have three walls with windows.
The fourth wall on each house is a grey windowless slab that looks as if it should be the dividing wall between two units of a duplex - except the next door unit doesn't exist.
"It looks so weird," one neighbour in the Sydney suburb of Edmondson Park said of Mr Aryal's home.
