Malta Supervisor Darren O’Connor said that she stepped down in a brief letter to him, submitted on Monday afternoon.
“I tender this resignation with regret but believe that in these challenging times, it is important not to allow any impediment to the smooth operation of the town business,” Pineo wrote in the letter provided to the Times Union. “It has been my honor to serve on the board. I thank you and former Supervisor (Vincent) DeLucia for the opportunity.”

MILFORD — The Zoning Board of Appeals has rejected an appeal seeking to overturn approval of a two-family house at 17 Maddox Ave.
The 4-1 vote took place at a special meeting Dec. 17 that was necessitated by Zoning Enforcement Officer Stephen Harris not pressing the record button for the board’s Dec. 8 Zoom meeting until the end of Attorney Max Case’s presentation. Case was representing two neighbors opposed to the project.
Case also has filed an appeal in Superior Court seeking to overturn the decision. The court case in unaffected by the ZBA decision.

we understand there are lots of clashes taking place when israeli forces and palestinian gunmen in that area. it would appear this is a tactic perhaps to cut the zba za strip in half which is what they did in 2008, 2009. in addition to that, they're focused on the north. we're hearing from the two biggest kmaunts in the northern part of the gaza strip that there's intense bombardment in that area. one of our producers was able to get through to one of the residents who said that people are walking, streaming out of that town trying to get away despite the gun fire, the shelling in that area. but the man we spoke to said, i can't go anywhere. i'm staying in my home. where am i going to go, he said, to the gaza sheraton? so you still have a lot of people in these areas stuck in their homes. they didn't want to leave

leadership. absurd ruling, at the time they did it, they couldn't come up with a reason. they couldn't come up with a reason to oppose gay marriage. the church couldn't find a reason to oppose birth control. there wasn't any, except they said it was bad before and wanted to be consistent. even infalability was something cooked up in the 19th century. celibacy has to do with land rights and property and things like that, nothing to do with sexual discipline. they could have priests marry tomorrow morning if they wanted to. and the thun thing, it's another case where they fall back on semantics they say you can't have zba marriage, because marriage means male and female. that's the way the term has been used, you change the meaning. it's about loving relationships for life. if you want to have a male or female priest, you say priest or priests. it's a new meaning. they fall back into the old language game of defending the past by the formal use of the language and it does get to be a catch-22 with these folks. i know mike and i, i don't go to church every week, but a lot.
