Search Underway for Escaped Inmate in Perry Co

Police in Perry Co are searching for an inmate who escaped from custody early Thursday morning. Officials with the Kentucky River Regional Jail identified the inmate as35 year-old Jody Eversole, who was being treated at Hazard ARH for an infection around 2:20 AM when he overpowered a Deputy from the jail and escaped. Eversole is white, 5′8″ and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown hair, green eyes and multiple tattoos on his arms, back, chest, legs and wrist. Some of the notable ones include Batman on his left arm, his name on his right arm and a cross and flag on his left leg. Eversole was in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on charges of giving false identification, possession of a controlled substance-3rd, promoting contraband and parole violation, according to the report. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Hazard Police at 606-436-2222 or 911.

Perry man charged with attempted murder

A Perry man was arrested on several charges including attempted murder after an incident last week in which he allegedly rammed a vehicle with his vehicle twice before fleeing and then crashing his van.
According to an arrest citation written by Hazard Police Officer Jimerson Montgomery, on April 14, he received a call reporting that Tracy Napier, 47, of Flat Gap Road, Bonnyman, had rammed a vehicle with his 1999 Plymouth Voyager on Ky. 80, then rammed the same vehicle again in the parking lot of Apple Market.
Napier, Montgomery wrote, then fled the scene and traveled to Easy Drive, where he wrecked the vehicle again on Ky. 15.

Missouri Man Arrested in Hazard after Police Chase

A Missouri man is facing several charges after leading law enforcement on a chase in Perry Co Thursday. A KSP Trooper observed a car swerving on route 451 and attempted to make a stop, but the driver sped on. The Trooper followed the car into Hazard, when Hazard Police took over. The driver led police to Airport Gardens before ditching his vehicle. Police briefly searched the area and found Michael Royer, who was already wanted in Missouri. He now faces several charges in Kentucky, including DUI.
