ISLAMABAD: All the five officials of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) involved in the killing of the 21-year-old youth on Jan 2 have been dismissed from service.
Moreover, two separate requests have been sent to the Interior Ministry and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for constitution of a judicial commission to probe the incident.
The dismissal orders were issued from the office of the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Islamabad, which is being looked after by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed since 2019.

In Quetta, the families of Hazara coal miners killed in an Islamic State attack last week have refused to bury the bodies, demanding a visit by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, and immediate action against the perpetrators.
Eleven coal miners were abducted and killed Saturday in a terror attack claimed by the Islamic State. The families of the miners have since been leading a sit-in demonstration with the bodies.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal visited the protest camp Wednesday and urged them to let go of their demand that they will only bury their relatives if Khan visits them. He also sought to assure the protesters that his government is working towards eradicating terrorism.
Physical remand of Islamabad cops accused in Usama murder case extended

ISLAMABAD. The physical remand of the five Islamabad cops accused of killing 22-year-old Islamabad student Usama Nadeem has been extended by an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad.
The remand extension is for seven days.
The accused policemen appeared in court on Wednesday.
Usama, 21, was gunned down by the police for not stopping his car near Sector G-10.
The investigating officer requested the court to remand the accused for another 12 days. The judge inquired whether the weapons used in the killing had been recovered.
The IO said the weapons and shells used in Usama s killing have been recovered and said a JIT has also been formed to investigate the case.
5 cops arrested for killing youth

Islamabad : A 22-year-old student was riddled with bullets by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Islamabad Police in the wee hours of Saturday, in the jurisdiction of Ramna Police Station.
The youth, identified as Usama Nadeem Satti was going back home after dropping his cousin at about 1.45 am at NUST University, H-11, but ATS comprising 5 personnel led by an assistant sub-inspector, intercepted him but he allegedly did not stop the car, consequently the police gunmen chased the car and riddled his car with bullets. “Seven bullets hit him in different parts of his body including head and chest,” the spokesman for PIMS told ‘The News’.
