Fireworks sales season ends amid shortage, high demand in Central Texas

ELM MOTT, TX â As of 11:59 p.m. on Independence Day, the fireworks sales season is over in Texas. For at least one stand, it was one of the best years for sales in recent history.
Even with a nationwide struggle with fireworks supply, Daniel Fitzgerald saw more people in his store this year than he did in the last ten years that he s owned the shop.
His store, Stars & Stripes Fireworks, is located just off of I-35 in Elm Mott. People felt more comfortable to get together, and so it caused a lot more family get togethers, and that s what I think drove a higher demand for fireworks, Fitzgerald said.

The Haunted House attraction that lies on the outskirts of Waco needs a new owner to keep the fog rolling.
According to a Facebook post from Waco Haunted Houses, the spooky attraction is looking for new owners. The previous owners captioned the post saying the haunted houses were for sale due to age and health.
The current owners are husband and wife, John and Danea Anderson, and have been running the attraction for over 3 decades. The haunted houses sit on the outer edge of Waco in Elm Mott directly off I-35, exit 345. The current owners are hoping perspective buyers will keep the business of scaring folks going.

West Senior Dies In Crash Near Elm Mott West Independent School District announced last week that a member of its senior class lost his life Monday, May 17, in a crash near Elm Mott. Eighteen-year-old Kadyn Reynolds died in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Farm Road 933 and Fort Graham Road west of Elm Mott at approximately 9:30 p.m. last Monday. In a statement, West ISD said that Kadyn was a beloved student who had attended West schools since pre-kindergarten. His interests and extracurricular activities included football, acting and technical theatre and film. Kadyn was set to graduate with the West High School Class of 2021 Friday, May 28, at West High School’s Trojan Field.
