Bhopal, May 21 (IANS) The Covid-19 situation in Madhya Pradesh is improving gradually. While the number of new cases has fallen to less than 5,000 in a day, the positivity rate has declined to 10 per cer cent across 40 districts of the state. There are nine districts where the positivity rate has come down to less than five per cent.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to strictly enforce the lockdown to restrict the movement of people on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. Action will be taken action against the violators of the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus. The decision was taken during a meeting held at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday to review the situation of coronavirus in the province.
Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat, Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, the Punjab chief secretary, additional chief secretary, additional chief secretary (Home), administrative secretaries of Health Department, Director General of Public Relations and senior civil and military officials attended the meeting.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has urged that the business community to ensure strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in markets and commercial areas in order to curb the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that the third wave of covid-19 has spread to a dangerous level and this situation demanded that business community should play a role for strict compliance of SOPs in business areas in order to control its further outbreak.
He said that reduction in coronavirus cases would also help the government to consider easing restrictions on businesses. He expressed these views during an online meeting with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI).

PAKPATTAN: Pakpattan DC Rana Shakeel Aslam has asked the officers concerned to strictly implement the corona related SOPs due surge in COVID-19 cases. He stated this while addressing a meeting which was participated by Pakpattan District CEO Health Doctor Ahmad Shahzad, CEO Education Rana Muhammad Arshad Khan and other officers. Health Department representatives told the meeting the number of total corona positive patients was 298 in the district. They said 26 patients were under treatment in Pakpattan DHQ Hospital.

Islamabad : The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination has urged the citizens to strictly follow COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in offices and markets to prevent the disease in the wake of a sudden increase in the number of infections in the country.
COVID-19 is a deadly virus but we can control it just as we controlled it by following the SOPs during the first and second waves.
The government is seeking your full cooperation in adhering to the SoPs, an official of the ministry said.
