View Comments Radar indicated six possible tornadoes in southern Delaware and eastern Maryland late Thursday into Friday morning as Tropical Storm Elsa moved into the area, according to the National Weather Service. A weather service warning had erroneously stated that a tornado had been confirmed near Sycamore, or 8 miles southwest of Georgetown, at 12:43 a.m. Friday. Meteorologist Dean Iovino later said radar had only suggested a tornado and that a survey would need to be completed in order to confirm any tornado. A survey will be done if any damage is reported, he said.
