The schemes form part of the £250m hotel district within the £1bn Airport City masterplan that is being delivered by Airport City Limited Partnership, a joint venture between Beijing Construction Engineering Group International, Manchester Airports Group and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund. In total, the hotel district is to deliver 2,400 hotel rooms across nine properties within the wider 5m sq ft masterplan. The contractor started building the Ibis and Holiday Inn hotels in January 2020 having been awarded a £45m construction contract. ....
