Kool Rock-Ski came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, where he shared the history of the pioneering rap group, The Fat Boys. He spoke about being in high school when the group started as a five-member group, which was then shortened to three members, including Prince Markie Dee and Buffy the human beatbox. Kool Rock-Ski detailed the group, then known as The Disco Three, winning a huge Coca-Cola sponsored talent contest, getting a record deal, and taking off with their track Stick Em. From there, Kool Rock-Ski spoke about The Fat Boys hitting great heights over their career, including movie deals, gold and platinum records, and five successful albums. Kool Rock-Ski then spoke about wishing that people would take a closer look at their health as they age, and he added that he no longer wants the group to be known as The Fat Boys. He would rather them be referred to by their original name, The Disco Three.

In this clip, Kool Rock-Ski opened up about Prince Markie Dee leaving The Fat Boys to pursue a solo career, and Buffy and Kool Rock-Ski dropping Mack Daddy in 1991. Kool Rock-Ski explained that he had lost his passion for making music after Markie Dee left the group, but he was motivated by the money to make the album, which he admits wasn t the best idea in hindsight. Kool Rock-Ski the addressed Buffy s health issues leading up to his death in 1995, and while Buffy s weight got up to around 633 pounds, Kool Rock-Ski says it was the flu that killed him. Prince Markie Dee, member of the Fat Boys, who released some of hip-hop’s most commercially successful albums of the 80s died at the age of 52.
In the 80s, the Fat Boys were one of hip-hop s top groups, with their 1987 album “Crushin’” which went platinum featuring the collaboration with the Beach Boys, “Wipeout,” their biggest hit, that reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
That year, the group also starred in the feature film “Disorderlies.” The group charted massive hits including “Jailhouse Rap,” “Stick ‘Em” and “Can You Feel It.”
Prince Markie Dee born Mark Anthony Morales on Feb. 19, 1968. Formed the Disco 3 in the early 80s along with Darren (the Human Beat Box) Robinson and Damon (Kool Rock Ski) Wimbley. They won a 1983 talent show at Radio City Music Hall, and changed their name to Fat Boys.
