POTSDAM Potsdam police said they charged several motorists with driving infractions over the last few days. Those charged include:
• Jeffrey J. Collins, 56, S. Colton, was cited Friday for speed in zone on Sandstone Drive at 9:46 a.m. after being observed driving 53 mph in a 30 mph zone, officers said.
• Jodie D. Sabad, 63, Norwood, was cited Friday for operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs and failure to keep right on Market Street at 11:08 p.m., officers said.
• Zackary D. Dumers, 19, Brasher Falls, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign Friday at 11:52 a.m. at the intersection of Market and Garden streets, police said.
The Brick Police Street Crimes Unit continues to sweep up the streets in town of drugs, particularly heroin of late, from having any more reach.
Chief James Riccio announced the results of recent sweeps, including one on Tuesday, all near the Wawa on Brick Boulevard.
Detectives and the SCU conducted a motor vehicle stop earlier this month after witnessing a motor vehicle violation.
Sgt. Paul Catalina and his K9 partner, Duke, backed up Detectives as well who, through combined efforts, found quantities of controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia.
All three people in the vehicle were arrested.
The driver, Kyle Fisher, 30, Manchester, was charged with possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia, in addition to several motor vehicle summonses.
