Four Retired Taiwan Intelligence Officers Face Charges Over Spying for China
TAIPEI, Taiwan Four retired Taiwanese intelligence officials were indicted on Feb. 20 for allegedly spying for China, according to local prosecutors.
The four worked for the Military Intelligence Bureau, an agency under Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense. According to local media, they were accused of violating the island’s National Security Act and the National Intelligence Service Law for passing on confidential intelligence to Chinese agents and developing a spy network since 2013.
The four once held high-ranking military positions in the bureau. Yueh Chih-chung was a former major general while the other three were former colonels: Chang Chao-jan, Chou Tien-tzu, and Wang Ta-wang. ....

Taipei, Feb. 20 (CNA) Four former officials of the Military Intelligence Bureau were indicted on Saturday for alleged violation of the National Security Act and the National Intelligence Service Law by passing confidential intelligence to China after their retirement.
The four people facing charges are former Maj. Gen. Yueh Chih-chung (岳志忠) and three retired colonels Chang Chao-jan (張超然), Chou Tien-tzu (周天慈) and Wang Ta-wang (王大旺), according to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office.
The charges against them include leaking information regarding intelligence sources, organizations and personnel under the National Intelligence Service Law and developing organizations for China under the umbrella of the National Security Act. ....

The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office yesterday indicted four retired Military Intelligence Bureau (MIB) officials, who are accused of providing China with a list of bureau personnel and other classified materials while attempting to recruit colleagues into a spy network in Taiwan.
Prosecutors charged Chang Chao-jan (張超然), Chou Tien-tzu (周天慈) and Wang Ta-wang (王大旺), former colonels at the bureau, and Yueh Chih-chung (岳志忠) a former major general and chief of the MIB’s Fifth Bureau, where he was in charge of sending agents to China on covert assignments with breaches of the National Security Act (國家安全法) and the National Intelligence Services A ....

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) Four former officials from Taiwan s Military Intelligence Bureau (MIB) were indicted Saturday (Feb. 20) for passing confidential intelligence to China after their retirement.
During a press conference on Saturday, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office said ex-MIB colonels Chang Chao-jan (張超然), Chou Tien-tzu (周天慈), Wang Da-wang (王大旺), and Major General Yueh Chih-chung (岳志忠) had been indicted for violating the National Intelligence Services Act. It said Chang and Chou introduced their two former colleagues to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as potential sources ....
